Music Survey.

1. WHAT WAS THE FIRST RECORD YOU OWNED?
"Kilroy Was Here" by Styx. Yes indeedy. I was such a nerd I thought it was cool, too.

Styx -- they had some great songs actually, especially during their prime -- "The Grand Illusion," "Pieces of Eight," "Cornerstone." "Kilroy Was Here" was not their prime.

"Personal Jesus" is a great song. I love that album, Violator. I forgot to list it among the perfect albums. I noticed some time ago that most of Depeche Mode's songs would translate well to rock or heavy metal formats. For all their electronic embellishments, they write their songs for guitar first. You can tell in the way the songs are put together.

The Crow had an absolutely perfect soundtrack.

mmm, yeah, "in your room." ...yeah.

...saw your response to a post on darkpaganism, checked out your journal, and was intrigued by the gnostic stuff. best of luck starting that group!

i dig this survey but my memory is so awful these days i have a hard time thinking of individual songs like this. i might give it a shot later when i'm at home, though.

"Sylvie and Babs" is a masterpiece. It is the ultimate acid-inspired coherent noise album, second only perhaps to "Brained by Falling Masonry."
