I am back in Boston. Over the last week i have only checked LJ very spottily, so if you wrote about anything that you want to make sure i don't miss, please link to it here (or send me an email).
I learned a couple of things from this trip: the first being that i don't have the stamina for Mardi Gras anymore and need to get in better shape if i want to do this again next year. The second was a realization after i noticed that i did not see anyone i knew in New Orleans before the storm during this trip at all, except our graceful hostess

alobar, and i realized that i don't really feel rooted anywhere. My sweeties are here, but that's the only way in which i feel connected to this area at all. New Orleans would be like basically starting anew if i moved there; so many of the people i loved there are elsewhere now. Austin... well i grew up there and know quite a few amazing people there, but the city has changed a LOT since i lived there 19 years ago and that, too, would in many ways be like starting in a new city if i were to live there.
