ongoing LJ woes

In response to my last ticket, i was told i may have to switch journal formats:
Are other people with Component having the same trouble? I have a hard time believing that LiveJournal is no longer able to support a style system they offer and which has worked fine for years.
The recommendation to refresh continually doesn't work. And it seems to me that refreshing several times would just add to the resource draw, wouldn't it?

In order to solve this problem, you may need to refresh your journal several times or change to a less-resource intensive layout (Component is a resource-intensive layout which requires a great deal of time to display).
