Headline from the New York Times: "Poll Finds Concerns That Bush Is Overly Influenced by Business"

Well, DUH! You vote for a Republican presidential candidate with an MBA, what do you expect? Two years ago, that was precisely what the public wanted, wasn't it?

Today's going to be another day with a heat index of 110º. The ambient temperature inside the house is 85º during most of the day, and this feels nice and cool after being outside. There's still no hope that the A/C in the car will magically repair itself, either.

Even still, I'm having much less trouble tolerating the heat this year. I don't know if it's simple acclimatization, or whether my health has improved, or both.

Our nephew Tim has been quite diligently looking for a job, a pleasant change from the string of people we've had living with us over the years who have, well, fallen short of diligent in this department. He's developed a pretty strong addiction to Civilization and stayed up all night playing it. I can't criticize him; I've done the same a number of times; but I'm going to recommend he set the timer on the microwave and stop after two or three hours - which was what I had to do to get the electronic monkey off my back.

My page is almost ready to go up, and in preparation for this I am divesting myself of the Enochian Linguistics page by finding someone else to take over. I think that page would be better handled by someone who is at least currently practicing Enochian. I have not, for over two years now, and have no intention to resume this kind of magick. (Except insofar as, the Gnostic material from the Books of Ieou seems to have a very similar feel; I'll only be able to confirm this if/when I find a way to make it workable.)
