It wasn't bad in the sense of widespread flooding or massive structural damage or anything like that. The power outage hasn't received much press because there's still a mindset that power outage is more of an inconvenience than a disaster in itself.
I'm glad, too. We were talking about maybe going to a cooling shelter (one of the cooling shelters the city had set up had to close within minutes because, like something out of a bad comedy, the AC broke down right away) or trying to find a hotel room.
