Elsewhere in this threat I conceded the connection. But that doesn't matter, the limitation of our civil rights is not a solution that I find acceptable. I do not find the violation of civil/human rights to be an acceptable solution to the violation of human rights.

As I told [livejournal.com profile] sophiaserpentia, we need a fundamental change of heart, and legislation is not going to do that. Legislation is rather going to force what freedom of speech can express underground where it will fester and grow and likely turn even more violent. Only an open dialogue, protected by our civil/human right to freedom of expression - is going to lead to a true change of heart. It is the harder path, but it is the superior one. It treats the problem and not just the symptom of it.
