That's fascinating, thank you! I was tempted to quibble with it in one regard, in that I'd read that the Egyptians never owned slaves, and so there was no slave revolt in Egypt. But the idea of the Decalogue as an emancipatory declaration is a fascinating one. And it makes sense, in light of the recurring theme of "liberation from oppression" which is practically the defining core of Judaism.
