Well yeah. The "Jewish-Christians" expected the "Gentile-Christians" to worship God according to the standard of the Torah. Not something they'd start making up by incorporating pagan bullshit into their form of worship.
Ironically, Catholicism has turned out to be -- as much as, if not more Pharisaic -- than the Pharisees of the first century with all its traditions of men. :-D
