Ick. I agree with you on that spam/trolling bit. I think if LJ could allow you to approve requests for someone to "friend" you, then that would be a great way of doing it. ICQ did it that way.
I've had my own little troll-adder for around a year now, but I think he must have gone to the loony bin just a few days after adding me. arthurblake -- interesting read from beginning to end if you're bored, but a bit weird.
