No NaNoWriMo for me this year. Absolutely not. I'm putting in 20+ hours a week on graduate school on top of full time work and everything else I have going on.

That said, I do have a project percolating in my subconscious -- a speculative/sf retelling of the Gnostic myth set 4000 years in the future. Perhaps during the winter break I'll be able to flesh it out a bit.

Meh, ok, I'm stumped.

Installed XAMPP.

http://localhost/xampp/ displays the test page just fine. phpinfo() runs fine. So php seems to be working.

But my own php files (which, yes, are in the htdocs folder) won't run. For some reason the code is not being parsed, it's just being barfed into the browser. When I look at the source code I see my own php code.

So I googled this, and saw some stuff about filetypes, so I took care of that, and saw some other stuff about IIS, but I shouldn't have to mess with that with XAMPP, right? (I hope.)

What do I have to do to make my php code run?

Meh, my project is due in 8 days. I'm dead meat. Once everything is set up I do fine, it's just a matter of coding at that point, but I don't know the first thing about installing and configuring, and I don't even know how to learn it.

Any advice or suggestions would be wonderful.
