Sep. 17th, 2007 01:43 pmSurely this belongs to all the mothers of the world. May they be seen, may their work be valued and raised. Especially to the mothers who stand with an open heart and wait. Wait for their children to come home from danger, from harm’s way, and from war. I am proud to be one of those women. If mothers ruled the ruled the world, there would be no god-damned wars in the first place.
--Sally Field, from her acceptance speech at the Emmy Awards last night. Fox, in their finite wisdom, saw fit to cut the end off of this because of the 'profanity.'
Can we redefine what "profanity" means please? Pretty please? I think hundreds of thousands of children going through life with PTSD and missing limbs is much more profane than any damn utterance.
