Biology may not be destiny, but it does often convey statistical likelihood.

Even so, statistical likelihood does not trump individual reality.

The fact that the average man might have more physical endurance than the average woman should not cloud our ability or willingness to acknowledge that a specific woman might well have more physical endurance than a specific man.

Further, that statistical correlation should not block, even subtly, the right of a woman to prove herself as capable of success at tasks which require physical endurance as any man might be.

This observation extends to all arenas for which either gender has a statistical advantage... especially in light of the corresponding observation that the difference between the average man and the average woman is usually much smaller than the range of values between the most and least capable man and the most and least capable woman. That is, the overlap is usually much greater than is commonly acknowledged.

In short, statistical likelihood does not translate to individual expectation. However, it often does, which is the source of much injustice.
