Photos of American GIs committing war crimes.
Edit. The fact that these photos exist is evidence of a pervasive atmosphere of tacit approval for mistreatment of war prisoners. If there was sufficient real oversight by supervisors to avoid mistreatment of prisoners, these photos would not have been taken in the first place.
Therefore it is safe to assume that the only reason the soldiers in these photos are being punished at all, is that they were caught.
Combine this with the accounts of recently-freed British citizens who were held at Guantanamo, and it is clear that the US Military is not in the least committed to the humane treatment of its prisoners.
