Yes, it is possible to become fatigued by descriptions of sunrises on alien worlds, alternate biochemistries, astrophysical phenomena, and geological anomalies.

No, it is not necessarily an impressive feat to cram great amounts of this into a single novel.

I seem to recall having difficulty maintaining interest in the Martian Chronicles when i was younger. But it's probably not fair judging a series forever based on an impression i formed when i was 12...
