1.5 million people were evacuated in China to get them away from Typhoon Saomai, a category 5 hurricane which made landfall on August 10. So far the confirmed death toll is 255; over 400 are dead or missing. This is the eighth typhoon to hit China so far this season.

I predict that the Chinese government will see to it that displaced persons are returned home much more quickly than the US has done for its huirricane victims.

Just in the fact alone that they successfully evacuated 1.5 million people is more impressive than US hurricane efforts. Most people in China do not have a car. They have the infrastructure to move that many people in that kind of time frame. We do not. This is a major, major shortcoming and, with a large portion of the voting public living in Hurricane Alley, i don't understand how Americans can be so totally, utterly apathetic about it.

This is Amurakkka which poisons its own troops with Depleted Uranium. I do not think it is apathy, I think it is an utter disregard for everyone's live, except the super rich.

America: where if it's not on TV, you don't have to worry your pretty little head about it!
