In other news, I am being treated for carpal tunnel syndrome. I went to the doctor before it got really bad -- and so far it is not affecting my ability to function in major ways -- but it is an annoyance nonetheless.

I have decided to resume working on my book, too. Well, maybe decided is not the right word -- I am being called back to it. I set it aside when I realized I wasn't sure of what I was trying to say. Now I have a clearer idea of where I want to go with things. The only fear I have is whether or not anyone will be interested in reading Loony IdeasTM from someone who doesn't have a PhD.

Actually I'm not terribly worried about that. I am primarily writing for me, to collect my thoughts in one place, and if any of it is worthwhile, I sense that readers will find it somehow.

Carpal tunnel seems to be the occupational disorder of people our age - sort of like the "button pushing finger" syndrome in the Jetsons, which was very funny then - not quite as funny now. I have a mild case of it, don't do much of anything for it other than try to rest my arms occasionally and take anti inflammatory drugs when it gets really bad. You might try massage or something, too. The concept of that surgery is frightening.
