the fish has more traditionally been a symbol of death, (and of course rebirth.) Nun, etc.

(could ramble for a while about those associations but i'm sure you know them.)

as for the fish story, technological explanations for the hoax never even crossed my mind. i figured it was just a myth, and was much more interested in the fact that it got covered by the BBC (and cracked me up.) however i also believe that there is a chance that it could be 'true,' that is, as experienced by the participants, as there isn't any other kind of 'true,' and in this world which is getting more and more absurd and fucked by the second, its kind of fitting, don't you think? for a fish to proclaim our immanent demise in hebrew?
