If the parable was originally meant to make people aware of wage unfairness, then the listener was supposed to question why when the landowner said "STFU!"

But in the New & Improved^TM version of the parable, it is essentially god as the ruling-class landowner telling his worshippers to STFU. Instead of questioning it, now we are supposed to equate rulers with god and go along with their plan without complaint.
