Just in the fact alone that they successfully evacuated 1.5 million people is more impressive than US hurricane efforts. Most people in China do not have a car. They have the infrastructure to move that many people in that kind of time frame. We do not. This is a major, major shortcoming and, with a large portion of the voting public living in Hurricane Alley, i don't understand how Americans can be so totally, utterly apathetic about it.
