Threatening violence is threatening violence, and that is legally actionable without hate speech laws. Hate speech legislation does not depend on threats of violence, but in some cases includes a broader definition. I should be able to say that homosexual acts are sinful, homosexual unions are not marriage, etc. without worring about being arrested. Others don't like it? Fine, speak up, they should have that right. We are not there in the US yet, but other countries are damn close and we are moving.
