For many mothers who asked, "Where did i go wrong?" when her son came out as gay, the answer is in: you may have extreme X-chromosome skewing.

Next time, get your chromosomes straightened out before having a son. (Because, you know, being gay is a choice.)

I don't have a link handy, but there's evidence to suggest that a particular pattern of hormonal exposure during a certain phase of fetal development is a strong predictor of sexual orientation. I think this is the most likely biological factor.

But, you know, as lady_babalon has pointed out to me numerous times, when it comes to tolerance and civil rights, it doesn't matter whether or not there is a biological explanation for it.

If a certain pattern opf hormonal exposure is a strong correlation, that might just add credence to this study - because it could well be connected to the same chromosonal pattern in the mother.

It seems to me that there are more gays today than ever before. If this is due to less repression bringing closet gays out in the open, I would say it is a good thing. Some of that may be going on, but I suspect there also other factors operating. Frogs sexual delineations are greatly impacted from certaion polutants in water. Phyto estrogens in soy based baby formula could also be having an impact opn babies. Medical wastes are found in many municiple water supples. Then there are hormones given to cattle.

Some straight people fear the increase in gays. But they tend to blame the gays, rather than looking for reasons why gays seem to be a growing population. They point to a very paranoid "gay agenda" which they fear means gays are trying to subvert hetero culture. Totally bananas. See here for the real gay agenda:
