I generally think Political Correctness is just oppression by a different group. It seems to involve the intrinsic threat of reprisal to prevent people from saying something they don't like, regardless of truth of the statement.

The barred statements may be true or not, but banning the expression of those ideas diminishes the public discourse, and thus diminishes us all.
