I can make a very passable {woof} or {grrr} which can startle dogs into looking around to see where the other dog is. But if they see make make the noise, the realize that some human is playing games with them. No dog has ever been fooled into thinking I am a dog simply because I make good dog noises.

On top of that, a human who has been beaten and is terrified, is going to reek of human fear smells. I could walk into a dark room with my ears plugged and & I could probably tell there was a frightened human in the room with no trouble. And I strongly suspect a lion has a far better nose than mine.

I think the so-called naturalist is a hunam-centric nudge who just does not want to admit that inter-species rescue is an on-going part of the huge ecological framework which goes on all around us.
