I was pondering a way to do this just the other day. You'd need to create a dummy LJ account and add it to only the filter you want to check entries on (remove and add to the next filter, etc).
But I also believe this would require that all posts be under a filter, or generic 'friends only' posts would still show (I think). A journal would have to be set up from the start with all posts under a filter, or you'd have to go back and make sure each one was categorized.
