I am proud to say that yesterday I bought nothing.

Ah, except for a couple of 20 oz Mountain Dews. Does that count?

Anyway, this sorta highlights and underscores the reasons I object to holiday shopping -- you may have already heard about the woman who was trampled in Wal-Mart in the rush to a stack of sale-price DVD players. (Thanks [livejournal.com profile] swisscelt for the link.)

In other news, last night rocked.

It is not surprising at all that this happened at a Wal-Mart. No matter how big they make the store, they still cram things in so tight that there is barely room to make one's way down the aisles. Wide aisles are of course filled with bins of miscellaneous merchandise and palettes of unboxed stuff. Wal-Mart does not use warehouse space and they do not have a space in the back to store things -- the aisles serve as their storage space until shelves are stocked. Frankly, it was a disaster waiting to happen, and maybe some good will come of it if Wal-Mart is forced to open those aisles back up to make it possible to move through the stores safely.

As for Friday night, eh, some boring business about running into wild acquaintances and indulging in several of my favorite fetishes well into the morning. Ho hum.
