Yesterday, the starter on my POS car decided it was going to keep turning, and turning, and turning, even with the key out of the ignition, until I disconnected the battery.

I was joking to [livejournal.com profile] akaiyume last night that my life has turned into a country song. My marriage is ending, my car has broken down, I'm having trouble at work, and I'm having a crisis of faith. If I had a dog the poor thing would probably be sick or dying. Oddly, today my mood isn't so bad. Things are rough today, but they've been far worse.

David Allan Coe "You Never Even Called me by my Name"

"WELL, I WAS DRUNK THE DAY MY MOM GOT OUT OF PRISON
AND I WENT TO PICK HER UP IN THE RAIN
BUT BEFORE I COULD GET TO THE STATION IN MY PICKUP TRUCK
SHE GOT RUNNED OVER BY A DAMNED OLD TRAIN"

As he says elsewhere in the song, this is the perfect Country-Western song.

I'm sorry things are tough...

Hehehe, yes, as I understand it, that song was written as a joke, to see how many country music cliches he could cram into a single verse.

you know what you get when you play a country western song backwards?

you get your dog back, your car back, your wife back, and the train backs up into you...*grin*

hang in there. time does heal most of our wounds. it may be a cliche but it really does.

Now if only your car is a Mustang, you can claim your pony died :P

At least you are not the kind of person who would kick your dog, even if you had one.

No, it is a Tracer, not named after any kind of animal. But I like the way you think. :)

No, but I might attempt to "kill a cat" or two soon. ::evil grin::

God is making a career suggestion. You'd better take it.
