Oh, jeez.

"NEW ORLEANS, La. (Reuters) - A car crash in a town near New Orleans revealed that a building thought to be a home improvement business was actually a white supremacist church, police said on Friday.

"The vehicle smashed into the brick storefront in Chalmette, Louisiana, after colliding with two other cars and came to rest amid stacks of racist books and pamphlets, including Adolf Hitler's 'Mein Kampf,' they said.

"A sign proclaimed the building the 'Southern Home Improvement Center,' said Lt. Mike Sanders of the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Department, but investigators found out it was the New Christian Crusade Church and headquarters of the Christian Defense League."

Have you ever read that horrid little book? Nevermind the virulent ideas being promulgated -- the little one-nut corporal was a truly hideous writer.

Ye Godz, looks like the throwbacks are actually developing a rudimentary sense of humor!

Disturbing.
I have llways found christianity to rhyme well with inanity and in dutch with stupidity but this goes a bit beyond.
Mein Kampf is the only forbidden book in my country for which I am glad.
The link up with christinity is very sick.
Both seem to support each other well somehow..

No, though I confess to a certain morbid curiosity to read at least a part of it to see what it was about.

Well, not in terms of the actual core teachings of Christianity, the words of Paul and Jesus. Both are quite clear that there is to be no hatred based on race or nationality.

But when it comes to the history of America, there have always been people willing to argue a connection between certain passages in the Bible (such as the bizarre passage where Noah curses his son for seeing him naked) and promotion of racist ideas.

This kind of abrogation could happen to any religious literature; some people, for example, see the Bhagavad Gita as pro-war propaganda.
