In other news, I am being treated for carpal tunnel syndrome. I went to the doctor before it got really bad -- and so far it is not affecting my ability to function in major ways -- but it is an annoyance nonetheless.

I have decided to resume working on my book, too. Well, maybe decided is not the right word -- I am being called back to it. I set it aside when I realized I wasn't sure of what I was trying to say. Now I have a clearer idea of where I want to go with things. The only fear I have is whether or not anyone will be interested in reading Loony IdeasTM from someone who doesn't have a PhD.

Actually I'm not terribly worried about that. I am primarily writing for me, to collect my thoughts in one place, and if any of it is worthwhile, I sense that readers will find it somehow.

A PhD might help you get published, but I don't think readers care a lot. I know *I* don't care whether an author has a doctorate, butthen, I've worked with too many PhD types to be fooled any more.

Yes, getting published is my main concern actually. I am still considering going the route of iUniverse; at least that would get the book listed in amazon and bn.com, and that way I wouldn't have to deal with a committee of editors wanting to change the book in various ways. OTOH that way I wouldn't have the benefit of having a "publishing house" behind me.

Well, first I should write the darn thing, and then spend time worrying about these sorts of issues... although it is good for me to keep in mind as I write it where I expect it could wind up being published, or at least where I hope it will be published (Quest, or perhaps Weiser).
