Here's praying Saddam and his sons take a good long look at the travel brochures for Bahrain. Maybe they could even start a tea and tennis club for former dictators in cushy retirement exiles.

It's a nice thought... but not only have they already refused to be ousted from their own country, Bush has also stated he's invading Iraq even if they leave.
So it basically comes down to what the war opposition has been saying all along - this isn't about anything but taking over Iraq and setting up someone who will "serve American interests" (pssst - that means "sell us cheap oil").

FAIR, an organization I don't always agree with, made a very good point about the "ultimatum" as manipulation of the media. The media took the bait -- instantly there were headlines not about "Bush's threat" but about "Hussein's refusal."

I think Bush would find a reason to kill everyone anyhow ...

I agree, the whole we'll go in and take over even if they leave is not diplomacy. He just has a bloodlust and only rampant and wanton carnage, bloodshed and destruction of many innocents will quench this. Man does this dude have inadequacies not to mention insecurities.

Well, I don't give him that much credit. I think it's mostly an oil thing PLUS we really did give a very bad man some very bad weapons (i.e. back in Iran vs. Iraq) and now he's not our "friend" anymore ... (i.e. soviet union fell).

I wouldn't really call it blood lust ... I think Daschale had it right this morning ... he basically said that Bushie had failed miserably at diplomacy.

I personally am not against taking SH out, but I am 100% against HOW we are going about it (unilateralist, no coalition, etc). SH is a very bad man ...
